Game Programmer

October 2020 - May 2021

Studio Seufz is an Indie Game Studio located in Stuttgart, Germany. They made their start with flash games and their Lucky Tower series, of which they are currently working on the third game in the series. I did an internship with them during a gap semester in 2020 and was then hired as a part time programmer, when I returned to my studies.

Lucky Tower

Coming in 2024, Lucky Tower Ultimate is a RogueLite Puzzle Platformer. I started working on the project as an intern, where I designed the dialog system and worked on the random room generation. The dialog system included not only interactions with NPCs running certain puzzles, but also giving instructions to your AI party members.

After the end of my internship, I was hired as a part-time programmer and implemented several puzzles, such as a card game, where both you and your adversary can cheat, a set of musical levers that you must pull in the order of the pitch of the note they play, and an Indiana Jones-like tunnel with spikes coming down at you.

Moon Waltz

Published on the online game site Poki, Moon Waltz was originally a Flash game written in ActionScript 2. During my internship at Studio Seufz, I ported the game to HTML5 using JS and Phaser.

Because ActionScript 2 was so old, I rewrote all the game logic from scratch using the original art and audio assets and a list of interactions as my resources. The game features dozens of interactions and over half a dozen distinct endings. Please do try it out!
